If VIPRE is failing to update its definitions automatically, check the following parameters.
Make sure to upgrade the Agent to a software version of 4.0.4210 or higher which incorporates fixes to prevent definitions from going to 0 by not allowing a corrupt download to be applied. You can Upgrade VIPRE by clicking on the following links:Update to the latest released version:

Once you have completed the download please install the upgrade and restart your computer.

DNS is not configured correctly:
Check your DNS settings. Make sure it is set to 'Obtain DNS server address automatically'.
You are running a Firewall:
If you are running a Firewall, disable it and see if the updates occur. Certain firewalls can block antivirus updates.
